Join me in growing our Church

The construction of a new church at Flat Bush is a high priority at this time for the Catholic Diocese of Auckland. The local Parish of St Luke’s is already one of the largest parishes in the Diocese with over 1,400 people gathering for Sunday Mass each week. St Luke’s Parish has already made great progress in raising funds for the new church which we hope to see completed in April 2021.

This is a project which has been in the planning for some time and which comes at a significant cost to both the Parish and the Diocese of Auckland. As a result, a large amount of fundraising is required to reach our goal.

I recommend this project warmly to all potential donors and benefactors.

Hopefully we will be able to construct a church of great beauty and an effective pastoral centre for this fastest growing area of greater Auckland.

Yours sincerely in Christ

A message from Bishop Michael Gielen as Patron

The Diocese has been aware of the growing need for a church and gathering space to meet the needs of the people of this developing area for some years. We are now very close to making this dream a reality.

This is a wonderful project and, as Auxiliary Bishop, I am delighted to be involved as the campaign Patron.

Members of the Parish, who care deeply about the community and the services that St Luke’s provides, have come together to plan this project and, although it is daunting, have accepted the challenge of raising the remaining $2.75 million for this significant development, both in the life of the Church in Auckland and in the suburb of Flat Bush itself.

We hope you will join us in this challenge.

Yours sincerely in Christ
